ছোট্ট মেয়েটি এসে বাবাকে জিজ্ঞেস করল, ‘বাবা, আম্মু কি আমার যত্ন নেয়?’
চোখ বড় বড় করে বাবা খুব আদুরে গলায় বলল, ‘অবশ্যই! আম্মু তোমার অনেক যত্ন নেয়। তোমাকে খাইয়ে দেয়। অসুখ হলে তোমার সেবা-যত্ন করে। তোমাকে গান গেয়ে শোনায়।’
‘দাদুভাই কি আমার যত্ন নেয়?’
‘অবশ্যই! দাদুভাই তোমাকে গল্প শোনায়। তোমার জন্য সুন্দর সুন্দর গিফট, চকলেট নিয়ে আসে।’
‘আর দাদুমণি?’
‘দাদুমণিও।’
‘আর ফুপি?’
‘ফুপি তো তোমার জন্য পাগল। ছুটি পেলেই তোমাকে দেখতে চলে আসে।’
‘আ…র রহিমার মা?’
‘ও, ও তোমার অনেক যত্ন নেয়। তোমার কাপড় ধুয়ে দেয়, বিছানা ঠিক করে দেয়, ঘুম পাড়িয়ে দেয়।’
সবকিছু শুনে ছোট্ট মেয়েটি সন্তুষ্ট হয়ে বলবে, ‘তাহলে তো আম্মু ঠিকই বলেছে। এ বাসায় একমাত্র তুমিই কোনো কাজের না।’
